Shield360 compared

Shield360 is one cross-vendor layer for AI security, AI audit and compliance, and AI cost. Most companies already own a tool in at least one of those categories. These pages say, from each vendor's own documentation, where that tool and Shield360 overlap, where they do not, and when to run both.

As of October 2026, from each vendor's own public pages. Products change, so check with the vendor.

Governing Microsoft's AI, or all of it

Microsoft Purview and Copilot governance

Purview applies Microsoft's labels, DLP and audit to Microsoft 365 Copilot and to AI apps it can see. Shield360 covers AI across vendors, including coding agents and AI spend, and can run beside Purview.

Network security, and the AI layer beside it

Zscaler and Netskope (SSE / SASE)

An SSE inspects traffic on the network path. Shield360 works in the browser, coding agents, an AI proxy and an MCP gateway, and can send its proxy traffic out through the SSE you already run.

Prompt Security, Lakera, Harmonic Security, Nightfall

AI security point tools

Tools built to stop sensitive data reaching AI tools, or to protect AI applications at runtime. Shield360 overlaps on prompt protection and adds governance evidence and AI cost.

Credo AI, OneTrust AI Governance, Holistic AI

AI governance platforms

Platforms built around inventory, intake, assessment and policy workflow. Shield360 builds its inventory and control status from observed use and enforces in the path.

CloudZero, Vantage

Cloud cost tools for AI spend

FinOps platforms that bring AI provider bills into cloud cost allocation. Shield360 puts AI spend on the person, seat, key and coding agent behind it, beside security and compliance.

02 · What Shield360 is

Checked against the product

What every comparison
measures Shield360 by.

Enforcement before a prompt leaves

One organization-wide policy decides what happens to each kind of sensitive data — off, warn, mask or block — in the browser extension (managed Chrome and Edge; prompts and file uploads are checked on eleven AI chat sites and on AI sites you add, and other AI sites can be allowed, warned about or blocked), an AI proxy addressed by base URL, and hooks in six coding agents: Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI, Windsurf and GitHub Copilot CLI. Coding-agent hooks warn or block; they cannot mask.

Shadow AI and personal accounts

A collector on each computer reports the AI tools, sites and direct provider traffic it sees, per person, and tells a personal Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or Copilot plan apart from a company seat.

One cost ledger

Seats and per-token use per person, machine, tool, model and key. Read-only billing connectors (OpenAI, Anthropic, Azure OpenAI, Amazon Bedrock, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, ChatGPT Enterprise) put what vendors billed beside the estimate, with budgets, forecasts and alerts.

Agents with an identity

An MCP gateway gives each agent its own token and denies anything not granted; grants can expire. A data gateway gives agents governed queries: sensitive fields masked or denied, every read recorded.

Evidence an auditor can check

Control status for 33 EU AI Act Articles, all 38 ISO/IEC 42001 Annex A controls, all 72 NIST AI RMF subcategories and the OWASP Top 10 for Agentic Applications, from observed evidence and owner attestation, kept as a daily history, plus a SOC 2 secure-development mapping. Evidence leaves as a package with a signed SHA-256 manifest that verifies offline, and auditors can be given read-only access that expires.

A tamper-resistant record

An append-only audit log, legal holds that outrank deletion, eDiscovery over what is held, and activity provenance: one hash-chained record per agent action, with credentials kept only as a type and a keyed fingerprint.

Where your security team works

Security events normalized to OCSF and sent to Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, Datadog, Elastic, Amazon S3, syslog over TLS or a signed webhook.

Your environment or ours

Managed at app.shield360.ai, or self-hosted with Docker Compose so telemetry never leaves your infrastructure.

03 · How these pages are written

Rules we hold ourselves to

Comparative claims,
written carefully.

  • Every statement about another vendor comes from that vendor's own public pages, linked under Sources on each page. Analyst and press round-ups are not used as sources.
  • “Not stated” means the pages we read do not say it. It is not a claim that the product lacks it.
  • Shield360 claims are checked against the product's documentation and source as it runs in production. Features still being built are left out.
  • Each page has a “What Shield360 does not do” list, and says where another tool is the better fit.
  • No competitor logos, quotes, customer names, ratings or benchmark figures.
  • Pages are dated. If something about your product is wrong or out of date, tell us and we will correct it.

As of October 2026. Information about other vendors comes from their own public pages, listed under Sources, as read on 14 October 2026. Products change, and a feature a vendor's pages do not mention may still exist, so check with the vendor. Product and company names are trademarks of their respective owners and are used only to identify their products; no endorsement or affiliation is implied. If something here about your product is wrong, tell us and we will correct it.
