Shield360 and AI governance platforms
Credo AI, OneTrust AI Governance and Holistic AI are built around the governance workflow: an AI register, intake and approval, assessments against the EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF and ISO/IEC 42001, and, increasingly, runtime controls. Shield360 starts at the other end: it builds the inventory, the risk register and control status from the AI use it observes, and enforces policy where people and agents actually use AI.

01 · In short
Where each one fits
Declared governance, or observed.
Most programs need both.
Choose a governance platform when
The first job is the program itself: intake for every AI use case, questionnaires and attestations from vendors and owners, assessments and approvals, red-teaming of models you build, and a register your risk committee runs.
Choose Shield360 when
The first job is knowing what is actually in use and proving it: shadow AI and personal accounts on real computers, coding agents and MCP servers, sensitive data stopped before it reached a model, control status computed from that record, and an evidence package an auditor can verify without trusting the vendor.
Run both when
A governance platform holds the policy and the workflow; Shield360 supplies the observed evidence behind the answers and the enforcement in the browser, coding agents, AI proxy and MCP gateway.

03 · Together
Running both
The platform runs the program.
Shield360 shows what ran.
Answer questionnaires with observed facts
When an intake form asks which tools a team uses, or whether sensitive data reaches them, Shield360's inventory and guard events are the answer, with the people and computers behind it.
Hand the auditor one package
Shield360's evidence package holds control status and its daily history, the risk register, findings, internal audits and the policy in force, signed so an auditor can check it offline. It can sit beside the governance platform's own records.

04 · Limits
What Shield360 does not do
What Shield360
does not do.
- No vendor questionnaires or attestations. AI requests and impact assessments run inside Shield360; questionnaires to and from vendors do not.
- No look inside your datasets. The dataset registry records what your team declares about each dataset, including its quality and bias examination; Shield360 does not read the data. It covers the datasets people register, and data lineage covers only the paths Shield360 observes. No model registry for models you train.
- No exhaustive red-teaming. Every attack starts from a test in your own suites, and generated and multi-turn attacks are only as strong as the evaluation model you configure, which also judges them. Prompt-injection detection is heuristic.
- No certification. Mapping evidence to a framework control is not a determination that an obligation is met.
- Activity provenance is an organization setting: hash-chained records of agent actions are written only while it is on. It is on by default for new organizations; older ones turn it on.
